Hello, Caleb!!

Yesterday, I visited my friends' house. At first, we intended to study for examination and write some reports. But after a while, we stop studying and start to talk about our future.

My friend, Erena has a dream of becoming a doctor. Therefore she is majoring medical science in her university. On the other hand, I don't have any dreams. The reason why I chose the department of English literature is that I just like English. Although I don't have decided my dream yet, I think that I want to get a job which uses English in some way. So yesterday, I noticed that all I have to do now is to improve my English skill. I felt so good to talk with Erena yesterday.

I want to go on a trip to Indonesia. The reason why I want go there is that I had lived in Indonesia for six years and I had a very good experience there. And also, I want to go shopping because in Indonesia, price is so cheap. Therefore, I would like to go to Indonesia.

I want to go to Indonesia solo, or with a couple friends. And I will travel on a shoe-string budget because the price of Indonesia is so cheap. Then I want to travel spontaneously, so I will not make any plans!!

It is an amazing experience, royal treatment, delicious food, spacious rooms, courteous staff, great facilities and the list goes on and on. The architecture of the hotel is amazing and a blend of modern art and contemporary style which resonates the culture of Indonesia to a great extent.

Batik Keris: Batik is a name of Indonesian traditional cloth which has unique design. The shop, Batik Keris is everywhere in Indonesia. They have good quality clothes, furnishings and gifts.
These goods must be nice souvenir.

Pulau Seribu: Pulau Seribe can paraphrases Thousand Islands in English. The ocean is very clear and beautiful. Moreover the atomosphere of whole of the islnads relaxes me. If I go to Pulau Seribu, I can spend a good time surely.

National Monument (MONAS): MONAS is the national monument of Indonesia. From there, I can see Jakarta city from the high. Because it is famous for one of sightseeing spots, it is always quite crowded with so many people.

In Indonesia, the order is bad, so I must always protect myself from any dangers. For example, pickpocket and robbery and so on. Moreover if I want to go outside, I must use a car or taxi. Remember not to walk outside. In addition, I cannot drink water of waterworks in Indonesia. So I think that I should buy some PET bottles of water.

Fireworks in Minatomirai

Hello, Caleb!!

On last Sunday, I went to see the fireworks in Minatomirai with the members of broadcasting circle. At first, we gathered at Sakuragicho station as a rendezvous. Because the station was full of people, it was hard for us to meet each other. All of girls wore Yukata. Of course, I also wore it. Then we moved to Akarenga Soko Mae from the station. There were many stands, so we bought food and drinks there. When the fireworks started to be shot off, we saw it as we enjoyed eating, drinking and talking. I was impressed because the fireworks were so beautiful.

This became a good memory for me. I want to see the fireworks next summer with wearing Yukata again!!

New Basketball Circle!!

Hello, Caleb!!

Now, I belong to broadcasting circle. One of my friends who is also a member of the circle formed a new basketball circle recently. Because I was invited to the circle from him, I decided to join the circle. But I have hardly ever played basketball and I am not good at playing it. Therefore I often wondered if it is ok that I am a member of the basketball circle.

Yesterday, I have dinner with members of basketball circle. we introduced ourselves each other and enjoyed talking with as we eating delicious food. Everyone was very nice person so I felt that it was good for me to belong to the circle. Through the activity of the circle, I hope to get along with all of members more!! Of course, I will also do my best to improve my basketball skill!!

The video of Thailand

Although a country which I really want to go is Indonesia, there is no video about Indonesia. So I will introduce about Thailand. The reason why I chose Thailand instead of Indonesia is Thailand is very similar to Indonesia and the second country which I want to go is Thailand.

This video is telling about temples and royal palace. In Thailand, most these buildings are golden so it looks very gorgeous. I like such sacred places. Therefore if I go to Thailand, I really want to visit to temples and royal palaces. And I do remember to dress conservatively or wear the long sleeves and long pants while I am visiting temples and royal palace.

In the video, a lot of food stands are also appeared. I also want to try to eat local food which is sold at stands, if I go to Thailand. But if I try to do so, I need to understand that there is a possibility to get food poisoning!!

School for handicapped children

Hello, Caleb!!

Last Thursday and Friday, I went to a school for handicapped children because I am taking a teaching course now. Before I went to the school, I really worried about whether I can get along with students or not. But in fact, every students were kind to me and they seemed to open themselves to me soon. Teachers were also very kind, so I could have a good laboratory. Although I went to the school as a teacher, I learned many things from the students. Through getting contact with them, I can spend a meaningful time.

At first, I did not have enough knowledge of handicap, but this experience makes me know a lot of things about handicap. And also I was interested in the field of welfare. After the laboratory, I felt that I could broaden my horizens. I want to turn my experience to advantage in my future.

World Cup Soccer Japan vs Denmark

Hello, Caleb!!

Last Thursday, I went to the sports bar to watch World Cup Soccer, the game of Japan vs Denmark on TV with my friends. The sports bar was full of people who wear a uniform of Japanese team. Because my friends and I did not wear the uniform, we were completely drifted away from the other people.

At first, though people cheered individually, if one Japanese player reached the goal, they gathered, yelled and jumped together. I could not join it because I was really overwhelmed. At that game, Japan reached the goal three times, so people at the bar also jumped three times. Although I could not join the jumping even one time, it was really fun for me just to watch such a scene. Finally, Japan won the game and I felt that I could become good friends with everyone at the bar through watching the game.

Eventually, my friends and I left the bar at 6:00 a.m. It was really hard for me to attend the class on that day. If I go to a sports bar again, I will select the day which have no classes.

Fireworks!!

Hello, Caleb!!

Yesterday, I shot off fireworks with the members of the club which I belong to. We assembled at 6:30 at Tsurugamine station. And we arrived at destination at 6:40. But it was still light so we waited until the sky gets dark. Eventually, we waited 50 hours and started at 7:30. I felt so sorry to have everyone wait so long time because I was a person who designed this plan. We enjoyed shooting off many kinds of fireworks as we talked. And some other people joined us a few hours behind time so we warmed up more!!

After we dismissed, I received many thankful e-mails. I sincerely thought that it was good for me to design the plan of fireworks.

Movie Review

Dreamgirls

In 1962, the vocal group which name is "The Dreamettes" from Chicago, performs a show in Detroit with dreaming to be famous. The Dreamettes is formed by Deena Jones, Lorell Robinson and Effie White who is a lead singer. In the same day, the Dreamettes meets a man whose name is Curtis. He presents himself as the Dreamettes' new manager and makes the Dreamettes back chorus of a R&B singer Jimmy. One day, Jimmy and the Dreamettes get a chance to sing at a hotel in
Miami. But it end in failure because of Jimmy. This failure makes Curtis angry and cold-hearted Curtis sell Jimmy to a hotel in New York. After that the Dreamettes changes their name to "The Dreams". This means that Curtis decide to launch out the Dreams alone. And also he decide to change a lead singer to Deena from Effie. Effie is wounded heart. Then the Dreams become very famous. Especially, Deena is hold the spotlight. Effie soon has bad condition and frequently she is absent from a performance. One day, Effie recovers and she goes to dressing room of the Dreams. Then she notice something is strange. There is a new member whose name is Michelle instead of her. In 1972, the Dreams has become international star. On the other hand, Effie is back to Chicago and she is singing for a living. But eventually she decide to try her best again. The song of Effie is in the charts and Curtis knows it. After that he lowers the ranking of Effie and makes the Dreams be in charts with offering bribe. One day, Effie and lawyer come to the concert of the Dreams to bring an accusation against him. At that time, Effie and Deena meet each other after a long separation. Although they have had a mountain of difficulties, finally, they get back their friendship. At last, the story come to the emotional climax.

This movie contains a lot of scenes of singing. Of course, Beyonce who is acting Deena has a good singing voice, but I think that the singing voice of Jennifer Hudson who is acting Effie is more wonderful!! When Deena and Effie become reconciled, they sing duet in the movie. This song was so powerful and beautiful so I was very impressed. I would love for everyone who have never watched the movie to listen to this song. However I saw the musical of Dreamgirls too because I really like this story. Dreamgirls is influential for me that much. Anyway, this is a touching movie. Even if you don't like music, you can enjoy enough watching this movie. I really recommend you to watch it!!

The place which I live in

Hello, Caleb!!

I am planning on shooting off fireworks with friends at the end of this month. So last Saturday, I searched the best place to shoot off fireworks.

First, I tried to search it in Tsurugamine because I am living in Tsurugamine now. Then I found a good park near my house. The park was silent and overgrown with weeds. I wondered why I did not know such a good place though I have been in Tsurugamine for one year. Then I noticed that I have hardly ever went outside. I think probably there are plenty more of good places. So I decided to go outside more as much as possible.

However, I am looking forward to shooting off fireworks!!

Drinking Party in Yokohama

Hello, Caleb!!

I went to drink with three of my friends at Yokohama last week Saturday. We enjoyed talking with delicious food and alcohol. After that we took a prikura, and went to karaoke and sang away two hours. Because we had not assembled for about a year, we had many things to talk from first to last. I really want to see them again soon.

School Festival in YNU

Hello, Caleb!!

In May 28th, 29th and 30th, there was a school festival in Yokohama National University (YNU.) Because I am a member of broadcasting club which is tied up with YNU, I joined the school festival. It was really fun for me to made and broadcasted radio programs. And I ate many food which were made by university students. All of food which I ate were so delicious!!

Anyway, these three days became a good memory for me. So I am looking forward to joining next school festival in YNU from now on.

Movie Review Response

One movie I would like to see is Twilight. Here are some reviews:

4. Conflict ... Despite the best efforts of the sisters and staff, the school's administrator, Mr. Crisp is working to convince the diocese to close St. Francis Academy, thinking it has better use as a parking lot.

5. What happens? ... The choir which is formed by Deloris and her students won the first prize of music competition, thereby saving St. Francis from closure.

First, I am sorry that I was absent from the class of last week.


I often listen to not only Japanese music but also Western music. So I know some foreign singers. Above all, I love Craig David the best. Do you know him?

David made his debut as a singer in 2000. He has released five studio albums and those have been sold worldwide. His song's genre is mainly R&B. As the tend of his music, the words of songs are chiefly written about love.

In all of his songs, I like a song which name is Don't Love You No More (I'm Sorry) the best. This song is about tragic love, parting of a pair of lovers. In the story, the man has hurt his girlfriend for a long time, so he need to comply with her request of parting, although he still loves her. Through the words, you will be filled with sorrow knowing his regret and disconsolate.
However David's soft voice and gentle melody match the story, so you can also feel heart warming. I really recommend you to listen to this song.

My name is Shiori Suzuki. I am a second year student and my department is English literature. I am taking Intensive English class E now. By the way, the name of my blog is "Sujiko's blog." The reason why I chose this name is that I am called "Sujiko" by my friends since I was a junior high school student.


My hobbies are dancing, singing, listening to music, watching movies , watching animation, reading comics and playing video games. Above all thigs, I love dancing the best. when I was a junior high school student, I belonged to dance club. And in high school, I didn't join the dance club but I was always dancing with my friends who loves dancing like me.
